Consider Yourself MORE!
I am going to get straight to the point! This isn't going to be sweet and its not even going to be humorous... but it will be genuine, that's for certain. Sometimes we can find ourselves plagued by indecisiveness. But what is the cause? Some people fear the unknown. Others simply just do not know what they want at all. And the rest lack ambition so going nowhere is the furthest place they ever want to go. It can even be a combination of all of these with a few added components, but I have come to realize that these are some of the biggest reasons.
Me on the other hand, I deal with chronic indecisiveness because I am extremely unselfish. I don't mean this to be boastful.... truthfully, I find it to be one of my hugest downfalls in life. I can be loyal to a fault... desperately trying to see the better of things when in actuality what I see, it actually is. I put a lot of other peoples wants and desires... and even day to day schedules before my own so I get absolutely nothing done in life... so it seems. To be quite honest, I am probably further along in life than I realize but not as far as I could be or want to be because I fail to prioritize myself. So I made a promise to myself that I would begin to do so. This will even benefit those that I sometimes put before myself. I will be a lot more relaxed, so much more helpful, and tons nicer to deal with if I take care of myself more.
Over the course of the last few weeks, I have set a time for me to read and write, a time for me to exercise, and a time for me to enjoy doing absolutely nothing even if someone wants to occupy my time with things that are important to them. I am not superhuman. So I too have to make sure that I am well taken care of before I can even think of taking care of others. If Jesus took time for himself after lending such a helping hand to so many, then who am I not to do the very same thing.
Since I have been exercising, I have been eating and sleeping better and I have way more patience for the trivial things (people included) in life. My advice is... if you find yourself overwhelmed, bored with life, or even if you feel stagnant in some areas of life, take a step back from everything to re-evaluate what is important and what/who can wait until later. You will thank yourself in the long run. I know I have... and because of this, more blog post will be coming more frequently!
